Future Shock became unbeatable during her sailing career in New Zealand. Winning numerous races, major events and breaking many records. The Auckland to Fiji race record set in 1998 is yet to be broken. The Shock was sold to Peter Hansen of Australia in 1995. He campaigned the boat hard and successfully raced in almost all major events. They frequently beat larger and newer opposition and set many new race records including the Melbourne to Hobart.
In 2001 the yacht was sold and fitted with water ballast. This has proven to be very successful allowing the owners to race with less crew and in short handed events.
Future Shock continues to achieve impressive results.
