Elliott 6m Thrilling Olympic Spectacle

The Elliott 6m Olympic event was the highlight of the London Olympic sailing competition. 2012 is the first time in Olympic history to feature Elliott 6m keelboat and the first time for ticket sales to view sailing from the land. The Elliott 6m women�s match racing event featured on the Nothe course for 11 out of the 14 days. The action was close to shore and provided exciting sailing for the spectators. Racing was extremely close between all 12 countries. The quarter finals saw USA world #1 Anna Tunicliffe eliminated bu Silje Lehtinen FIN, went on to win bronze. World #2 Lucy MacGregor GBR was beaten to a semi final lace by RUS Eketerina Skudina. With a good breeze on medal race day the gold /silver battle went to 2 all. Thrilling sailing by highly skilled teams made for exciting viewing around the world. Echegoyen ESP won the last race to collect gold from Olivia Price AUST .
